CEDAR
This round, Harriet and Leone sent out the word, “cedar” as the catalyst for work. We received photographs, songs, stories, and thoughts all of which took cedar past whatever we expected, and however we expected it. A variety of trees crept into this grove: laurel, pine and oak. Accompanying the various wood types came people: a sculptor and furniture maker, a poet, a writer. They brought with them familiar names of place, people and things: Lebanon, William Faulkner, Daphne, and Michael Thonet. This strange grove is expanding in wondrous ways. It populates itself with myth, literature, strange etymologies, ships, travel, and various languages. Above all, this new forest is flourishing, and it now extends to you.
